Since his early years, Finn Juhl had been interested in fine arts and initially dreamed of becoming an art historian. However, his father wouldn’t allow him to pursue a career in the arts, so instead, Finn Juhl enrolled at the Department of Architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Arts in Copenhagen. He began his studies in the 1930s, a transformative period in furniture design when modern styles began to emerge.

Walter Gropius was a German-born American architect and designer. As co-founder of Deutscher Werkbund and mentor of Staatliches Bauhaus in Weimar, he is widely regarded as one of the pioneering masters of modernist architecture who decisively influenced the creative work of the 20th century.

Antoni Gaudí i Cornet was a Catalan architect internationally recognized as the leading exponent of modernism and creator of a unique architectural legacy.

Antoni Gaudí was born on June 25, 1852, in Reus according to some biographies and in Riudoms according to others, a small town near Reus where his family spent the summer. He came from a family of copper-smiths, which allowed the young Antoni Gaudí to acquire a special skill for handling space and volume while helping his father and grandfather in the family workshop.

At the age of 19, he studied at Bauhaus in Weimar and worked in the office of Walter Gropius. In 1924, he took over the job as office manager and construction manager at the new Bauhaus and Masters' Houses in Dessau. Icons of the modern age. But Neufert sought new challenges and at the age of 26 accepted a professorship at Bauhochschule in Weimar. After it was closed in 1930, he taught architecture at Itten School in Berlin and worked as a freelance architect.

Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) enjoyed an exceptionally rich and varied career as an architect and designer, both at home in Finland and abroad.

The Swedes are great innovators and traditionalists. They successfully export a lot of their ideas to the rest of the world. Among others, they’ve given us Ingmar Bergman, Wille Sundquist, Abba, Volvo, Bluetooth and Spotify. And even dynamite! Oh, and they've designed the classic Coca-Cola bottle! How about that!

Therefore it’s no surprise that they also did some groundbreaking scientific research on chair design.
